We have been privileged to meet and work with Onyx Home Care, owned and operated by Mike and Colleen McGrew. I was given their name by another community agency and considered that referral a gift from heaven.
My story illustrates what great people the agency employs and how they helped me and my family.
Six weeks ago, I received a diagnosis of bladder cancer. In preparation for my surgery, I was determined to have professional help to see us through all the changes this would bring to our household. Thus, my contact with Colleen which entailed a detailed interview and getting to know us and our needs.
The night of the surgery, and after a visit from our assigned nurse, Diane (an RN), I later had a scary reaction to meds. Dialing the phone at eleven at night is not a normal thing for us to do, but a sleepy voice answered and forty-five minutes later, Colleen (also an RN) arrived at our doorstep. I now kid her, saying that Angel wings brought her to Port Orange.
Hours later, I was sleeping peacefully and she quietly left our home after assuring us all was well. And it was!
Over the next week, Diane and Colleen encourages us with daily visits keeping my health in check and Jane, our home health aide, kept the house going. Invaluable services that we appreciate and cherish not only because of the professionalism but most of all…. the personal touch.
